Circulation Information
A current, valid Roselle Public Library card is
required to borrow materials from the Roselle Public Library.
Roselle Public Library will also lend materials to any patron
holding a valid library card from an Illinois public library
that participates in reciprocal borrowing.
Library Cards
Every resident of the Roselle Library District is eligible
for a Roselle Library card. A resident library card is
permanent and updated every three years. Proof of identity and residency (photo ID with current
address) are required at time of application and renewal.
(Examples include: driver’s license, state ID card,
passport, school ID, etc.) A parent or guardian must sign a responsibility statement
for minors under eighteen years of age. Your library card is to be presented when checking out
material. Treat your library card like a credit card -
it is valuable - report
lost cards to the library immediately. A Photo ID is required
to reinstate lost library cards. There is a $2.00 replacement
fee for lost or damaged cards. Roselle Library cards in good standing are welcome at most
libraries in the state of Illinois.
Loan Periods
Most items go out for three weeks.
One-week loans include: Adult new fiction, Magazines,
Videocassettes, DVDs and Juvenile CD-ROM.
Popular DVDs in the QuickPick DVD collection circulate for 3
days.
Renewals: Items not on reserve can be renewed for the
length of the original check out period, with a limit of one
renewal per item.
Reserves: Items owned by the Library but currently
not available may be placed on hold by Library cardholders in person, over the phone, or via
the Internet.
Call (630)529-1641 x. 222 for help with renewals and/or
reserves. Your library card number is necessary for phone
transactions.
A Book Drop Return is located to the right of the main
entrance of the library. This may be used 24 hours a day for
all materials except CD’s, CD-ROM’s. DVD’s, and Video’s.
Fines and Fees
Fines are charged at 10 cents per item per day overdue for
most items. DVDs and videos are charged at 50 cents per
day, per item. Overdue notices are sent for items
overdue 8 days or 16 days. Borrowing privileges will be
blocked if fines equal $5.00 or more, until the fines are are paid. Patrons will be billed for items not returned.
If an item
is not returned in 59 days, the item is considered lost and
full replacement cost, plus a processing fee, is charged to the patron.
