Summer Reading Programs for all ages!

Registration for all programs begins Monday, June 2nd

Be sure to check out the many local businesses and organizations who support the Summer Readings Programs at Roselle Public Library!

 

Summer Reading Program for Adults

Who can join?
Any adult, at least 18 years old with a current Literary Elements - Adult Summer Reading!Roselle Public Library card.

What do I do?
-
Sign up in the Adult Services Department
- Read or listen to 5 books in any format from the Roselle Public Library collection (including eBooks & eAudiobooks borrowed from eMediaLibrary or eRead Illinois), between June 2 and July 31.
- At least one of the 5 books should be from this bibliography (or something similar).
- That's it!

What's in it for me?
In addition to the joy and pleasure you will get from reading, all participants completing the program will receive two completion prizes. Finishers will also be eligible for (drum roll!) the GRAND PRIZE DRAWINGS!!!

Summer Reading Program for Families

What is a family?
A "family" can be one or two adults (parents, grandparents or guardians) 18 or older, and one or more children under 18.
All family members must have a current Roselle Public Library card.

Family Summer Reading!What do I do?:
-
Sign up in the Adult Services Department
- Each family member reads 3 books from the Roselle Public Library collection (including eBooks & eAudiobooks borrowed from eMediaLibrary or eRead Illinois), between June 2 and July 31. (non-readers may have books read to them).
- That's it!

What's in it for us?
In addition to the joy and pleasure you will get from reading, when each family member has read 3 books, the family members will each receive a completion prize, and the family will be eligible for (drum roll!) the GRAND PRIZE DRAWINGS!!!

Adult family members can also participate in the Adult Summer Reading Program and child family members can also participate in the Kid's Summer Reading Program.

Summer Reading Program for Teens

Who can join?
Young Adults entering 6th Grade through 12th Grade with a current Roselle Public Library Card
(6th graders may join either the Teen program or the Children's program)Spark a Reaction! Teen Summer Reading!

What do I do?
- Sign up in the Adult Services Department
- Set your own goal at registration (7 - 15 books or .1,000 - 2,000 pages). Books must be from the Roselle Public Library collection (including eBooks & eAudiobooks borrowed from eMediaLibrary or eRead Illinois),

What's in it for me?
In addition to the joy and pleasure you will get from reading, all teens who register during the first 2 weeks are eligible for a special prize drawing.
All teens who meet their goal will also be eligible for (drum roll!) the GRAND PRIZE DRAWINGS!!!
Spoiler alert!! The Grand Prize is a Nook!

Summer Reading Program for Kids

Who can join?
Kids, birth through entering 6th grade, with a current Roselle Public Library card.
(6th graders may join either the Teen program or the Kids's program)

Summer Reading for Kids!What do I do?:
-
Sign up at the Ask Me Desk
- Read or listen to books from the Roselle Public Library collection (including eBooks & eAudiobooks borrowed from eMediaLibrary or eRead Illinois), between June 2 and July 31, then log the number of minutes you read.
(non-readers may have books read to them)
- Check in at the Ask Me Desk periodically for incentive prizes.
- That's it!

What's in it for me/my child?
In addition to the joy and pleasure you will get from reading with or to your child, children who finish the program can select a book as a reward for a job well done and receive a prize bag!
Finishers will also be eligible for (drum roll!) the GRAND PRIZE DRAWINGS!!!

Participants must be Roselle Public Library cardholders.
